Tyub-karagan
On December 29, 2003 the Ministry of energy and mineral resources and JSC NC “KazMunayGas” signed a Production Sharing Agreement (PSA) No. 1290 in respect of section “Tyub-Karagan“ located in the Caspian Sea.
On January 09, 2004 JSC NC “KazMunayGas”, JSC OOC “KazMunayTeniz” and a Company “Lukoil Overseas Shelf B.V.” signed a Mineral Rights Agreement in respect of the Production Sharing Agreement dated December 29, 2003 No. 1290 between JSC NC “KazMunayGas”, JSC OOC “KazMunayTeniz” and Company “LUKOIL Overseas Shelf B.V.”.
On January 09, 2004 JSC OOC “KazMunayTeniz” and a Company “LUKOIL Overseas Shelf B.V.” signed a Joint Venture Agreement on the section “Tyub-Karagan” located in the Caspian Sea.
JSC OOC “KazMunayTeniz” is a subsurface user on the deposit “Tyub-Karagan” with a 50% interest in the project.
On June 26, 2004 as per Minutes No. 5 of the Operating Committee the “Tyub-Karagan Operating Company B.V.” has been appointed a Project operator.
Performance of social obligations subject to the conditions of the Production Sharing Agreement on the project “Tyub-Karagan”:
- As of January 01, 2010 vocational training of Kazakhstan human resources comprised USD 2.2 million, present at the relevant plan;
- As of January 01, 2010 financing of social projects comprised USD 3 million, present at the relevant plan, including the following:
- 2005. Social project: Accomplishment of adjacent territory at the coastal area between 5th and 7th microdistricts of Aktau city;
- 2005. Social project: Purchase of motor vehicles for the Great Patriotic War veterans residing in Tupkaraganskiy region of Mangistau oblast;
- 2006. Social project: Capital repairs of the main building of the orphan asylum of Zhanaozen town of Mangistau oblast;
- 2007. Social project; Participation in joint financing of the project of “kindergarten for 120 children” in Kuryk village of Mangistau oblast;
- 2007. Social project: Participation in financing of a social project “Capital repairs of puppet theater in Aktau city”;
- 2008. Social project: Participation in financing of a social project “Construction of gas pipeline in Kyzylozen village of Tupkaraganskiy region of Mangistau oblast”;
- 2009. Social project: Participation in the shared construction of a 50 (fifty)-apartment building in Aktau city of Mangistau oblast;
- 2009. Social project: Participation in the shared construction of a 50 (fifty)-apartment council house in Munaylinskiy region of Mangistau oblast.
Social programme for 2010
- In autumn, 2010 it is planned to participate in the construction children’s preschool institution to the amount of USD 500 000 (five hundred thousand) in Akshukur village of Tupkaraganskiy region of Mangistau oblast;
Works completed under the Project:
- Detailed 2D-Seismic Survey, scope — 615 linear km;
- Seismic Data Processed and Interpreted;
- Geological and Engineering Survey;
- Construction of ТК-1 Exploration Well, depth — 2500 m;
- DNEM Electrical Survey, scope — 200 linear km;
- Thematical Report «Analysis and Generalization of Geology and Geophysics Data on Tjub-Karagan Field».
- Geological and Engineering Survey (GES) and setting-up for drilling of Exploration Well No.2 on Tjyub-Karagan.
- Construction of TK-2 Exploration Well;
Current Activities
- Processing and Interpretation of data received from TK-2 Well.

- Deciding upon further development of the project.
