28 april 2008On the commencement of first exploration well drilling on Atashskiy area
«Atash Company» LLP announced the commencement of the first exploration well drilling on Atashskiy area. Drilling jack up rig Astra will be used to drill the well with the depth of 2 500 m. Construction works on this well will last about 100 days.

On March 22 this year an opening ceremony of a new kindergarten for 120 places was held in Kuryk village, Mangistau oblast. This social project implementation became possible due to Participants of «Atash», «Tub -Karagan», «Kurmangazy» and the «Pearls» projects who, with consent of Akimat of Mangistau oblast, decided to jointly finance the construction. The consolidation of funds under the above offshore projects will allow to finance further significant social projects in Mangistau oblast.

On August 24, 2007 drilling of the first exploration well started in «Khazar» in the «Pearls» contract area, located in Kazakhstan Sector of the Caspian Sea. Drilling is conducted by means of «Astra» jack-up.

On August 3, 2007 the foundation stone laying ceremony for the construction of new kindergarten providing places for 120 children was held in Kuryk village in Mangistau oblast. This project implementation became possible in the result of the decision made by partners of «Atash», «Tyub-Karagan», «Kurmangazy» and «The Pearls» projects regarding joint financing of the above construction. Consolidation of funds available for social obligations related to the mentioned projects will provide sufficient resources to finance more significant and large-scale facilities in Mangistau oblast.
17 january 2007Public hearings on environment impact assessment in the course of offshore oil operations in “the pearls”
In December 2005 Production Sharing Agreement (PSA) on “The Pearls” was signed between the partners “Shell EP Offshore Ventures Limited, Kazakhstan” (55%), “KazMunayGaz” (25%) and Oman Pearls Company (20%). “The Pearls” covering the area of 895 sq.m. is located in the north part of the Caspian Sea. Pursuant to the RSA the minimum working program includes analysis of environment impact assessment, drilling of two exploration wells and performance of the associated investigations.

From 1 till 6 April current year Kyzylorda will host a workshop and open a center for public hearings with regard to environmental impact assessment of prospecting seismic surveys (2D) in Kulandy East which will be the continuation of “Aral” project implementation. Its relevancy is stipulated that the primary prospects of a considerable increase in hydrocarbon reserves and production in our country is connected with the development of Kazakhstani sector of the Caspian and Aral seas. NC JSC “KazMunayGaz” will operate as a subsoil user of “Aral” project.
